Happy New Year!

All locations of the ACPL will be closed today and tomorrow (December 31st & January 1st). Please visit the main library on Sunday between 12pm & 5pm for all of your informational needs.

Did you forget to pick up that classic before the library closed on Thursday? Check out Internet Archive's Children's Library. It is quite useful when your child asks about the story of Tom Thumb when the library is closed and you can't remember exactly how it goes.

TumbleBooks!

Exciting news!

Check out TumbleBooks -- a collection of animated e-books for children. A wide selection of children's books -- stories, non-fiction, chapter books -- and games and puzzles are now available through the library's website.

Simply click on the TumbleBooks icon, shown here and in the upper right hand corner of the Children's Services website, and explore. Children may follow along as a story is read, or turn off the sound to read on their own.

Happy Reading!

Happy Birthday Wilhelm Grimm!

On this day in 1786 Wilhelm Grimm was born. During his lifetime Wilhelm would, with the help of his brother Jakob, collect German folklore. The stories that the Grimm Brothers collected have been read and loved by generations.

Check out this beautiful copy of Household Stories from the Brothers Grimm, illustrated by Lucy and Walter Crane. This book from 1922 is available to read at the Internet Archive. You can also download it and read it on your ebook reader. Oh yeah, and access is FREE!
